1. What does your £200 website package include?
Our package includes a full 5-page website that's fully responsive - meaning it works perfectly on mobiles, tablets, and
desktops. It also comes with a domain name, hosting, and free small updates to keep your site current.
2. Are there any hidden costs?
No hidden costs at all. I ask for a £50 deposit upfront to cover initial setup costs. After your first year, there's a small
annual fee of £90 if you'd like to keep your site live, which covers your domain and hosting renewal.
3. How long will it take to build my website?
Since I run The Byte Shack solo alongside other commitments, timescales can vary slightly - but in most cases, I can
have a full website up and running within around 2 weeks.
4. Can I choose my own domain name?
Yes, absolutely. A domain name is included in the cost - typically a .co.uk or .uk address. If you'd prefer something like a
.com or another international domain, that's no problem - they just cost a little extra due to their wider reach.
5. Will my website work on mobile phones and tablets?
Yes - all websites I build are fully responsive, meaning they're designed to work smoothly on mobiles, tablets, laptops,
and desktops. Whatever your customers are using, your site will look great.
6. Can I update the website myself after it's built?
Unfortunately, no. To keep costs low, I don't build custom control panels for clients to update their sites themselves. But
if you want any changes or updates, just drop me an email - I'm always happy to help.
7. What if I don't have any images or text ready?
No worries. I can source high-quality stock or licensed images for your site, and I'll research or reference similar
businesses to create professional, relevant text that fits your needs.
8. Do you offer ongoing maintenance or support?
Absolutely. I use 123Reg for domains and hosting, so your site is very reliable and rarely goes down. But if anything ever
does go wrong, I'll jump on it straight away to get things back up and running.
9. Can I have a contact form on my website?
Yes, every website comes with a basic contact form that sends messages directly to your email. If you need a more
complex form, just ask - I'll see if I can fit it within the budget.
10. Do you provide email addresses with my domain?
Yes, I can set up email addresses linked to your domain. You'll get a link to access your email online, and if you want to
use Outlook or another email client, I'll provide all the setup details.
11. Can you help me get found on Google?
Yes - all my websites include basic search engine optimisation (SEO) to help you get found online. If you want to boost
your visibility even more, I offer an optional SEO package for just £30, which you can add at any time.
12. Will I own the website once it's built?
Technically, no - the domain and hosting are registered in my name to keep things simple and cost-effective. That said,
if you ever want full control, I can transfer everything over to you. Most clients are happy for me to manage it all and
avoid the extra renewal hassle.
13. What kind of businesses do you work with?
I've built websites for all sorts of small businesses - from childminders and dog groomers to gospel choirs. Most of them
are still going strong today. I've since upgraded to better software, so while there aren't loads of examples on my site,
don't let that put you off - I've got plenty of experience behind the scenes.
14. What if I already have a domain or hosting?
Good question. As long as you've got access to your domain's control panel (or even just the original welcome email), I
can build your new site and upload it straight to your existing domain and hosting - no problem at all.
15. What payment methods do you accept?
I usually take payment by bank transfer, but if PayPal suits you better, that's fine too - whatever floats your boat.
